Adiantopsis radiata View in CoL (L.) Fée, Mém. Foug. 5: 145 [Gen. Filic.]. 1852.
= Adiantum radiatum View in CoL L., Sp. Pl. 2: 1094. 1753.
Range: —Antilles; northern Mexico to Bolivia (BE, CH, CO, LP, SC), Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil ( Link-Pérez & Hickey 2011).
Ecology: —Very common; terrestrial and saxicolous in arid to semihumid scrub and forests, often on open soil such as along steep banks or on rocks; 150–1300(–1800) m.
Notes: —Unmistakeable, because of its digitate blades with 5–9 once-pinnate pinnae. Young plants sometimes only have 3 pinnae and may then be mistaken for A. monticola , but the proximity of mature plants should clarify the situation. The very similar A. dactylifera Link-Pérez & Hickey is known from Peru ( Link-Pérez & Hickey 2011).
