= Cheilanthes tweedieana Hook., Sp. Fil. 84, pl. 96B. 1852.
Range: —Central Bolivia ( CH, CO, SC) to northern Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil.
Ecology: —Terrestrial in arid and semiarid regions; 300–3000 m.
Notes: —Blades 2-pinnate; pinnules small, to 3 mm long; rhizome scales bicolorous, dark brown and pale-edged. This species had been placed in Cheilanthes , until recent molecular evidence showed that it was more closely allied to species of Adiantopsis ( Link-Pérez & Hickey 2011) .
