Adiantum dawsonii Lellinger & J.Prado, Amer. Fern J. View in CoL 91(1): 6(–8), fig. 3. 2001.
Range: — Bolivia (SC) and central Brazil.
Ecology: —Rare (1 collection known), terrestrial on slopes and stream banks; 900 m.
Notes: —Species of this group, including also A. cinnamomeum Lellinger & J.Prado and A. gracile Fée , both from Brazil, were treated by Lellinger & Prado (2001); these species are a small subset of the much larger A. tetraphyllum clade-2-pinnate species with copiously scaly rachises, numerous (per pinna) relatively small, short pinnules, and short-creeping rhizomes. Pinnules are relatively small, ca. 2 times longer than wide, with 35–55 pairs per pinna, yellow rounded glands present abaxially.
