Range: — Ecuador to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP SC, TA); Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.
Ecology: —Fairly common, terrestrial on steep and shady slopes near river margins; 1100–2900(–3400) m.
Notes: —Seemingly an isolated species, mostly closely related to the Brazilian A. subcordatum Sw. Blades 3- pinnate; pinnules digitate (deeply incised), flabellate, not articulate, bases broadly cuneate, stalked, stalks 0.3–0.7 cm long; rachises pilose, hairs whitish brown; pinnules with scattered hairs on both surfaces and margins, terminal pinnae similar to lateral ones, sterile margins denticulate.
