= Adiantum lunulatum Burm.f., Fl. Indica 235. 1768. ( Fraser-Jenkins & Verma 2008)

Range: — Mexico to Panama; Cuba; Colombia and Venezuela, Peru, Bolivia (BE); Brazil; also in Madagascar, India, Asia, Malesia, and Polynesia.

Ecology: —Rare (1 collection known), terrestrial in wet forests; 500–700 m.

Notes: — Adiantum philippense has often been called A. lunulatum , but see Fraser-Jenkins & Verma (2008) for a nomenclatural discussion of these two names. In Bolivia, most similar to A. deflectens and A. delicatulum , which see; more broadly, a member of a clade of 1-pinnate, Old World, mainly east Asian species and African species, including A. caudatum . L. and A. schweinfurthii Kuhn. Species in this group were studied by Giudice (2001).
