Antenna: flagellum length (0.14 0.008); ratio of the length to width of flagellum (6.56

0.55); flagellum length to hind tibial length (0.91 0.06); flagelliform setae long, (0.09

0.006) evenly tapering to apex; longest flagelliform setae length to flagellum width (4.25

0.52); unsocketed setae present in the first section of flagellum; basiconic sensilla with formula 222011; three placoid sensilla, the basal one (0.04 0.003). Forewing: width to length (0.57 0.01); fringe setae length (0.03 0.002); fringe setae length to hind tibial length (0.17 0.02); length fringe setae length to forewing width (0.10 0.01); 59 setae

between the 4th and 5th setal tracks. Hind wing: anterior track with 01 seta; posterior track with 35 setae, approaching of midpoint of middle track. Scutellum: anterior setae short; ratio of anterior to posterior pair (0.13 0.03). Male genitalia: genital capsule longer (0.13 0.007) than wide (0.05 0.002); ratio of width to length of genital capsule (0.37

0.02); apical distance to genital capsule length (0.27 0.02); apical width to genital capsule width (0.69 0.03); dorsal lamina originating anterior to middle of genital capsule; dorsal lamina length to dorsal lamina width (1.89 0.20); dorsal lamina length to genital capsule length (0.39 0.02); posterior extension of dorsal lamina long (0.05 0.005) and narrow with pointed apex reaching or extending beyond the volsellae; posterior extension of dorsal lamina length to dorsal lamina length (0.90 0.04); dorsal aperture length to dorsal lamina length (1.50 0.15); dorsal ridge absent; ventral ridge long (0.05 0.004), extending beyond the midpoint of the genital capsule; ventral ridge length to basal distance (0.59 0.03); basal distance to genital capsule length (0.73 0.02); ventral processes widely separated and near level of the intervolsellar process base (0.01 0.001); intervolsellar process short. Quantitative data were obtained from 20 males.

TYPE MATERIAL Holotype male. BRASIL. ESPÍRITO SANTO: Conceição do Castelo, Distrito de Indaiá, ex Anagasta kuehniella trap eggs on avocado, 12xi2001, Dirceu Pratissoli collr. ( ESALQ). Ten paratypes (males) with same data as holotype ( ESALQ). Two paratypes (males) with same data as holotype (UCR).

DIAGNOSIS Trichogramma pratissolii is recognized by the dorsal lamina long, narrow and apically pointed posterior extension reaching or extending beyond the apex of the volsellae. This species is similar to T. bertii , but it is distinguished by the flagelliform setae long, the ventral processes far from each other and for the intervolsellar process short. It differs from T. bruni by having posterior extension of dorsal lamina is more narrow and ventral processes widely separated and near of intervolsellar process base.

ETYMOLOGY The species is named after Professor Dirceu Pratissoli (UFES), the collector of the type series, for his studies on biological control using Trichogramma .
