Dicronychus berrai Platia et Gudenzi, 2003

(Figs 45, 101)

Material examined. 3 specimens, males (Fig. 45): Austria: “Austr. inf. Franz Josefland F. Smolik coll. Dr. R. Streda (Cardiophohorus cinereus ab. testaceus, det. Endrődi), Dicronychus sp. (det. von Hayek, 1970)” (1, HNHM); “Vindobona, Hoffman” “ Dicronychus sp. det von Hayek, 1970” (1, HNHM). Lebanon: „ Lebanon, Sarepta (Sarafand), von Bodemeyer“ (1 male, HNHM). Aedeagus as in Fig 101.

Distribution. E: Greece ( Platia & Gudenzi 2003). New to Austria and Lebanon.

Remarks. The species described from Northern Greece is present also in Crete: nom. Chanion, Askordalos, 20.V.1984, F. et M. Berra (CPG). It is very probably confused in the collections with the chromatic variety of D. cinereus (Herbst, 1784) with yellowish elytra (“ab. testaceus F.”); the apices of the paramera in the male genitalia are very distinctive.
