gen. nov.

Roznerathous gen. n.

Type species. Roznerathous hellenicus sp. n.

Diagnosis. Body subcylindrical, convex, head capsule flattened, frons deeply impressed before strongly and regularly thickened anterior margin, nearly straight, projected forwards, well protruding above clypeus. Antennae serrated from fourth antennomere, second antennomere subcylindrical, longer than wide, third subconical, longer than wide and longer than second; second and third, taken together, longer than fourth; fourth to tenth triangular, longer than wide; last longer than penultimate, with subparallel sides, constricted at apex.

Pronotum as long as wide, strongly convex on disk with sides gradually and regularly narrowing from base to apex; lateral margins complete, totally visible in dorsal view; posterior angles short, not divergent, not carinate; surface regularly, coarsely punctured.

Scutellum shield-shaped, convex and punctured. Elytra 2.6× longer than and as wide as pronotum; sides subparallel in first half and slightly dilated behind middle then gradually tapering to apices, striae well distinct and punctured, interstriae subconvex, densely and finely punctured.

Wings normally developed. Tarsi with tarsomeres simple, regularly decreasing in length, claws simple. Prosternopleural sutures closed along their entire length, prosternal lobe very slightly arcuate, short, slightly exceeding inner anterior extremities of propleura. Prosternal process elongate, gradually sloping behind procoxal cavities, pointed at apex. Sides of mesocoxal cavity gently declivous; mesocoxae open to mesepimeron and mesepisternum. Last maxillary palpomere subcylindrical. Male genitalia (Fig. 72) with median lobe slightly longer than paramera, latter with apical, pointed and sharp tooth.

Etymology. This genus is dedicated to the collectors of the type specimen of the type species, son and father, György Rozner (nature conservation engineer assistant, Balatonkeresztúr) and István Rozner (private coleopterist, Budapest).

Comparative remarks. Based on the general features the new genus belongs to the tribe Dendrometrini . It can be compared only with the genus Athousius Reitter, 1905 for the posterior angles of the pronotum are not carinate, and the antennae serrate from the fourth antennomere on, but it is well separated by the shape of frons being strongly impressed, with the anterior margin conspicuously thickened and projecting above clypeus, and the posterior angles of the pronotum short and truncate.
