Clubiona qianhuayuani Barrion View in CoL , Barrion- Dupo & Heong, new species [ Figure 8 A-B]

MALE. Holotype male, total length 4.50 mm. Cephalothorax length 1.90 mm., width 1.35 mm. Abdomen length 2.60 mm, width 1.00 mm.

Carapace. Yellow except lustrous PME, brown fovea and black eye margins, 1.43x longer than wide. Cephalic as broad as posterior end of thoracic area. Chelicerae pale yellow brown, sub triangular frontally with narrow anterior and broad basal end. Dorsosubbasal area of each chelicerae each with a long hair, 1.33x longer than cheliceral diameter at its widest point. Retromarginal teeth reduced to two very minute brown dots. Promargin with three teeth, apical two very small and basal third tooth largest. Promarginal area from base of long and sharply pointed fang to teeth area lined with a moderately dense mat of whitish yellow hairs, of which two most apical hairs distinctly longer than fang. Pedipalps yellow except brown cymbium. Maxillae and labium brown to brownish yellow; UPLB Mus. Publ. Nat. His. No. 3

shape typical of the genus Clubiona . Sternum yellow, 1.33x longer than wide with truncated anterior and shortly pointed posterior end.

Eyes. In two rows of four each. AER recurved and shorter than procurved PER (0.57: 0.74mm). Eye diameter (mm): ALE (0.13)> AME (0.12)> PME =PLE (0.11). PME-PME separation twice longer than PME-PLE separation. AER subequally separated from each other. Clypeus height very narrow.

Legs. Uniformly yellow except brownish yellow spines and tarsal claws. Spination in femora I- IV similar in all, 3-0-1-1; Tibia I and II 0-4-0-0 and III and IV 2-3 -2-2. Metatarsi I and II with 0-2-0-0, III with 3-4-3-2, IV with 3-5-3-3. Tibia I nearly as long as tibia IV. Leg formula 4123.

Abdomen. Uniformly dull yellow brown in alcohol (greenish in live form), 2.6x longer than wide. Venter pale yellow. Spinnerets and anal tubercle both whitish yellow. Posterior spinnerets noticeably long, 5.7x longer than wide and 1.5x longer than the robust anterior pair.

Palpal organ with a large sword-like RTA approximately as long as three-fourth length of cymbium. Apex of RTA slightly curved and pointed. Seminal (sperm) duct button-like in midtegulum forming a V-loop posteriorly. Embolus sharply point- ed and sickle-shaped. Tibia with long whitish hairs reaching three-fourths height of RTA.

FEMALE. Unknown.

Material Examined. Holotype male (coll. no. XH11), holotype male (coll. no. XH11), CHINA, Hainan Island, Xincun town, Xinhua village, 3 April 2011, ATBarrion, JLACatindig and SCVillareal.

Diagnostic Features. This new species is very similar to Clubiona corrugata Boesenberg and Strand, 1906 but differs from the latter in terms of (1) sharply pointed and sickle-shaped embolus, (2) seminal duct narrowly V-shaped posteriorly, (3) cymbium parallel-sided medially seen ventrally and bears a long spine prolaterally, (4) RTA slender with a short, pointed and slightly curved tip and hump midprolaterally forming two shallow cavities, (5) palpal tibia with long thin hairs extended to threefourth length of RTA, and (6) leg spination.

Etymology. Patronym, in honor of Dr. Qianhua Yuan for his dynamic leadership, coordination, and support of the Arthropod Biodiversity Project in Hainan Island, China.
