Diagnosis

This subtribe is characterized by the combination of the following characters: (i) scutellum conspicuous, its basal width more than 0.10X the greatest elytral width; (ii) prosternal process laminate; (iii) procoxae subconical, extending below the plane of the prosternal process; (iv) apex of prementum acute; (v) female terminalia devoid of gonostyli.

Distribution

Xylographellina is the most widespread subtribe of Xylographellini ( Figs 26 View FIGURE 26 , 80–81 View FIGURE 80 View FIGURE 81 , 101 View FIGURE 101 , 134 View FIGURE 134 , 159 View FIGURE 159 ), occurring throughout the Neotropical Region and in parts of the Palearctic (restricted to Japan), Oceanic, Australasian (restricted to New Zealand) and Indo-Malayan Regions.
