Found in Western and Central Europe, the Baltic states, in the Urals, Altai, and Western Siberia. The main host is specified for pond bat, with the area that matches the area of distribution M. corethroproctus ( Radovsky, 1967; Dusbábek, 1972; Haitlinger, 1979; Stanyukovich, 1990; Orlova, 2011; Orlova, Zappart, 2012, own data).
