Type locality and specimens. Tasmania .

Material examined. Unmeasured males and females, AM P 79288, AM P 79289, AM P 79290, AM P 70886, AM P 70993, AM P 71096, AM P 71206, AM P 71226, AM P 79287, AM P 71375, AM P 71420, AM P 71597, GCRL 2891. Diagnosis based on description by White & Thomas (2009).

Diagnosis. Coxa 1–4 with serrate, acute margins. Pereopods 5–7 bases extremely narrow; carpus with setose spines. Telson with plumose distal setae.

Female (sexually dimorphic characters). Ventral cephalic keel anterior margin with projection. Gnathopod 2 propodus secondary mediofacial setal row with 4–6 setae, proximal margin with one tubercle; dactylus with apical protuberance.

Habitat. Coral reefs, among calcareous algae; 1–30 m.

Host. Sponges.

Distribution. Pacific Ocean: Tasmania (Haswell 1879; Haswell 1880; Stebbing 1906; Moore 1987), New South Wales, Australia ( Stebbing 1910b; J.L. Barnard 1974; Lowry & Stoddart 2003) Western Australia (J.L. Barnard, 1974b; Lowry & Stoddart 2003), Lizard Island, Australia ( White & Thomas 2009).
