Type locality and specimens. Parry Island , Eniwetok Atoll, Micronesia. Holotype, male, 3.4 mm, USNM 107574 .

Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by J. L. Barnard (1965, 1970).

Diagnosis. Gnathopod 2 propodus with mediofacial setal row displaced to midline. Telson apex pointed.

Note. Leucothoe hyhelia of Ledoyer, 1978, 1979, 1986 and Myers, 1985 show some variation in structures from Barnard’s original description. Examination of the materials used in these descriptions is necessary to determine if they are in fact L. hyhelia .

Female (sexually dimorphic characters). Unknown.

Habitat. Among lagoon sand, coral heads with algae, and other encrusting organisms; 1–30 m.

Host. Unknown.

Distribution. Pacific Ocean: Eniwetok Atoll, Micronesia (J.L. Barnard 1965), Hawaiian Islands (J.L. Barnard 1970; J.L. Barnard 1971a), Tonga (Myers 1986). Indian Ocean: Mauritius, Madagascar ( Ledoyer 1978a; Ledoyer 1979a; Ledoyer 1986). Indo–Pacific Ocean: Indonesia: Bunaken ( Ortiz & Lalana 1997).
