Type locality and specimens. Naples , Italy. Males and females, 3–4 mm .

Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by Della Vale (1893), Krapp-Schickel (1975), and Karaman (1971).

Diagnosis. Truncate anterior head margin. Antenna 1 peduncle greatly inflated. Gnathopod 1 dactylus short. Gnathopod 2 carpus distally truncate; propodus elongate with mediofacial setal row displaced to midline. Coxae 3– 4 with setose distal margins; coxa 3 with setose anterior margin. Epimeron 1 with anteroventral tuft of setae. Epimeron 3 posteroventral corner sinuous with simple cusp. Telson apex rounded with facial setae.

Female (sexually dimorphic characters). Antenna 1 peduncle slender; antenna 2 subequal to antenna 1; gnathopod 2 propodus shorter, more convex.

Habitat. Among gravel with Corallinaceae Lamouroux, 1812 ; 1–30 m.

Host. Unknown.

Mediterranean Sea: Naples (Della Vale 1893; Stebbing 1906, Chevreux & Fage 1925; Krapp- Schickel 1975), Monaco (Chevreux 1910; Chevreux & Fage 1925), Marseilles ( Ledoyer 1968; Bellan-Santini 1972), Sardinia ( Krapp-Schickel 1989). Tyrenhian Sea: Ischia ( Karaman 1971), Gulf of Taranto ( Krapp-Schickel 1971). Adriatic Sea: Boka Kotorska Bucht ( Ruffo 1946).
