Type locality and specimens. Naples , Italy. Male, 8 mm .

Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by Della Vale (1893) and Krapp-Schickel (1975).

Diagnosis. Antennae elongate. Gnathopod 1 coxa with heavily setose anterior and distal margins; carpus strongly dentate. Gnathopod 2 basis with setose posterior margin. Coxa 3 with setose anterior and distal margins. Coxa 4 distal margin setose with projection. Pereopods 3–4 bases with posterior setae. Epimeron 3 posteroventral corner sinuous with simple cusp. Telson apex rounded with facial setae.

Female (sexually dimorphic characters). Gnathopod 2 propodus smooth.

Habitat. Sand; 10–12 m.

Host. Unknown.

Distribution. Mediterranean Sea: Naples (Della Vale 1892; Krapp-Schickel 1975). Tyrrhenian Sea: Gulf of Follonica ( Krapp-Schickel 1989). Adriatic Sea: Venezia ( Krapp-Schickel 1989). Atlantic Ocean: Morocco (Krapp- Schickel & Menioui 2005).
