General distribution. Europe: Albania, Austria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece (incl. Crete), Hungary, Ireland, Italy (incl. Sardinia and Sicily), Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (incl. Madeira), Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (incl. Canary Is.), Sweden, Switzerland. West Asia: Jordan, Syria, Turkey. North Africa: Algeria, Tunisia ( Zapparoli 2002; Minelli et al. 2006).

Chorotype. W-Palearctic (WPA).

Records in Peloponnisos ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). Arkadia: Oros Menalon, Vitina, near Drakotripa, 1450 m (3). Korinthia: Oros Killini, Ano Sinikia Trikala, 1500 m (3). Messinia: Ithomi (1, 2).

New records from Mt. Parnonas ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ). 11 ex., Arkadia, Arnomousga, mountain refuge "G. Papatheodorou" (loc. 12), 1400 m, N37.258463 / E22.58999, 27 Oct. 2014; 5 exx., Arkadia, Parnonas mt. refuge (loc. 24), 1480 m, N37.220203 / E22.613662, 29 Oct. 2014.

Ecological notes. 100–1500 m; an euriecious species, recorded in Pinus nigra , Abies cephalonica and Fagus sylvatica woods, in open montane habitats, in wetlands, and in caves ( Chamberlin 1956; Matic 1980; Zapparoli 1994, 1996).
