Description. ♂. Body length 11–12 mm. Flagellum with 36 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomere 4.0 × longer than wide. Tyloids absent. Mandible with one large tooth. Genal carina reaching mandibular base. Scutellum with lateral carina in basal half. Hind femur 4.1 × longer than wide. 2 nd tergite 1.2 × wider than long. Otherwise as described for the ♀ ( Heinrich 1934: 162–163).

Colour. Black. Rings on flagellomeres 8–15, palps, clypeus, face, large triangular spot of frontal orbit, wide frontal margin and spot of hind edge of pronotum, tegula, subtegular ridge, scutellum and postscutellum, 7 th tergite and parameres, fore and mid coxae and trochanters ivory. Mandible, propodeum and apical half of metapleuron red. 1 st to 3 rd tergites red; 4 th tergite red basally, black apically; 5 th and 6 th tergites black. Legs red; hind tarsus black. Wing with yellowish suffusion; pterostigma brown.

Remarks. The scutellum is usually not carinated, but one otherwise typical ♀ has a lateral carina in basal half of scutellum.

Distribution. Only known from Sulawesi.
