Nemoura concava Li & Yang View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Figs. 1–5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 )

Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of a large, sharp distal spine on the cercus. Its epiproct is rectangular in dorsal view, having a circular indention apically. The dorsal sclerite of the epiproct is composed of a pair of basolateral bands and a loop-like sclerotized strip bearing two distal spines medially.

Male: Forewing length 7.6 mm, hindwing length 6.7 mm. Head, antennae, mouthparts brown and thorax brown; compound eyes dark. Wings brownish; legs yellow. Abdomen brownish with hairs mostly pale.

Terminalia ( Figs. 1–5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ): Tergum nine weakly sclerotized, with a broad but shallow mid-anterior incision and two groups of several long spines submedially along posterior margin. Sternum nine with claviform vesicle, constricted basally and swollen medially, slightly longer than half of hypoproct; hypoproct basally wide and somewhat enlarged medially, then gradually tapering toward papillate tip. Tergum ten weakly sclerotized except posterolateral margins distinctly sclerotized, a trapeziform membranous area present medially, bearing several tiny black spines located along anteromedial margin. Cercus sclerotized, peanut-shaped, slightly constricted at middle and forming a large, sharp distal spine. Epiproct rectangular in dorsal view, with circular indention apically; dorsal sclerite with a pair of basolateral bands, and a loop-like sclerotized strip bearing two distal spines medially; ventral sclerite distinctly sclerotized, broad basally and slightly narrowing medially, distal portion expanded bearing two tiny spines apically in dorsal view and several ventral spines in lateral view subapically. Paraproct bilobed: inner lobe sclerotized, triangular with acute tip; outer lobe slightly sclerotized, broad basally, with blunt tip.

Female: Unknown.

Type Material. Holotype: male, CHINA: Yunnan, Tengchong, Xiaodifangcun, 1,900 m, 25o01'N, 98o51'E, 2006. V. 15, X. Liu.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. The specific name refers to the apical concavity of the epiproct.

Remarks. The cercus of the new species shows similarities to N. marginata Pictet, 1836 from Europe, but may be separated from the latter by the epiproct with an apical indention. In N. marginata , the epiproct has a smooth apex ( Zhiltzova 2003).
