Hosts. Polyphagous, reported from 167 species belonging to 51 plant families ( García Morales et al. 2016).

Distribution. Australasian, Afrotropical, Nearctic, Neotropical, Oriental and Palaearctic regions ( García Morales et al. 2016). This is the first record of Ph. madeirensis   in Uruguay.
