Etymology. This species is dedicated to my grand-aunt Dr May Bertschmann who is an inspiration and role model for me both as a scientist and friend.

Description. Fore wing length 3.7–4.3 (holotype: 3.85) mm. Antenna with 28–29 (29) flagellomeres. Mesoscutum with more or less even, dense punctuation. Scutellum with a few obvious punctures, smooth inbetween. Mesopleuron with strong and rather dense punctures, smooth in-between; below subtegular ridge with parallel, diagonal carinulae. Metapleuron with juxacoxal carina absent or at most present as a short basal carina. Propodeal areas smooth with strong punctures. Hind coxa coriaceous and matt, with weak punctures. Hind femur length to width ratio 3.4–3.7 in male and 4.4–4.6 in female, ventrally with a small tooth at most half as long as width of hind tibia at mid length. Hind tibia 1.3–1.5 mm. Second tergite 2.5–2.7 × longer than wide at base, covered with longitudinal carinulae. Ovipositor 1.8–2.0 × as long as hind tibia.

Colouration. Antenna basally orange, remainder brown or black. Face black or dark brown with orange or yellow malar space. Clypeus orange. Back of head black or dark brown. Protonum, propleurae, mesoscutum, scutellum, and mesopleuron orange; mesosternum and propodeum mostly black or dark brown. Hind femur redbrown, with apex yellow. Hind tibia white or yellow with dark apex and base. Fore wing hyaline. Tergite 1 orange at base, black or brown on remainder, tergites 2 and 3 black or dark brown at base, orange at apex, following tergites mostly orange but often with irregular dark markings and with yellow hind margins.
