Type-material: Holotype female (No. AM-20120314-1), found in Chelogavmishi village, vicinity of Minab County, Hormozgan Province, southern Iran (27.07°N, 56.59°E, altitude 16m) detached from abdominal tergites, under elytra of the S. lateralis ( Coleoptera : Carabidae ) (type-host), collected by Abdolazim Mortazavi , 14 March 2012, deposited in TMU GoogleMaps . Paratypes: one male and 15 larval females, with the same collection data as the holotype in TMU; one larval female is deposited in UMMZ. The other paratypes and the beetle host are deposited in TMU GoogleMaps

Etymology: The new species is named in honour of Dr. Barry M. O’Connor ( UMMZ) for his great contribution to study of mites.
