COMIBAENA TIBETENSIS SP. NOV. ( FIGS 20 View Figures 1–26 , 74 View Figures 67–78 , 124 View Figures 108–131 )
Description: Antenna in male with outer rami longer than inner rami, basal three-quarters bipectinate with long rami, terminal one-quarter simple; simple in female. Frons and labial palpus pink. Vertex with anterior half white, posterior half green. Tegula green with a sub-basal, pale yellow band corresponding to the costal band of the forewing. Dorsal side of thorax and anterior segments of abdomen green. Hind tibia in male not dilated, without hair-pencil and terminal extension.
Forewing length: ♂ 16.5–17.5 mm. Wings green, mottled with white. Forewing with outer margin distinctly protruding at middle; a pale greenish white costal band; antemedial line almost straight, white, very broad, diffusely shaded with white inside; postmedial line very broad, white, slightly concave from costa to CuA 2, bent inwards below CuA 2 and merging with the tornal patch, which is pinkish shading to yellow; white submarginal line visible above M 3; discal spot grey, bordered with white; fringes with basal part concolorous with wings, terminal part pale green. Hindwing with discal spot a small brown or pink dot; an elongate pink patch present on apex, tapering posteriorly; submarginal line very close to outer margin, forming a blunt white patch near M 3; a pinkish yellow patch present on tornal angle; terminal line pink; fringes yellowish, pink on vein ends. Underside much paler; costal base pink, discal spots on both wings pink; hindwing with marginal decoration distinct and pink.
Third sternite in male without setal patch. Eighth segment in male with posterior margins flat, well developed.
Male genitalia. Uncus well divided. Socii hooked and tapering. Valva with apex blunt; costal lobe well developed terminally, apical margin serrate, with a blunt spinose subapical process on dorsal margin; ventral margin with a slightly sclerotized pointed process at base and a tooth at middle, the ventral margin from tooth to apex sinuous. Vinculum slightly concave, with tiny lateral processes, middle part flat. Aedeagus slender.
Female genitalia. Not examined.
Diagnosis: In the wing pattern, this new species is distinctive in the broad, slightly concave, white postmedial line, the whitish basal area on the forewing, and the large pinkish yellow tornal patch on both wings. Comibaena chalybeata ( India) also has the concave white postmedial line and the white basal area, but the line is considerably narrower, and Comibaena chalybeata lacks the tornal patch on both wings. In the male genitalia Comibaena tibetensis is similar to Comibaena dubernardi in the processes on the dorsal and ventral margins of the costal lobe, but the dorsal process is triangular in Comibaena dubernardi , whereas it is blunt in Comibaena tibetensis , and the apex of the costal lobe in Comibaena dubernardi possesses another larger pointed tooth, whereas it is serrate in Comibaena tibetensis .
Holotype ♂, Tibet: Nyingchi, Bayi , vi.1990, coll. Deji Meiduo ( IZCAS) . Paratypes ( IZCAS): 2♂, same data as holotype ; 1♂, Tibet: Nyingchi, Bayi , 2–3.vii.2002, coll. Xue Dayong, IZCAS slide no. Geom- 01057 ; 1♀, same locality, 2999 m, 1–3.viii.2006, coll. Lang Songyun (with an egg hanging on the end of the abdomen) .
Distribution: China (Tibet).
Biological note: The egg is pale grey, oval, with a grainy surface. The length is 0.95 mm and the width is 0.71 mm.
Etymology: The specific name is derived from the type locality.
COMIBAENA TANCREI ( GRAESER, 1890) View in CoL
( FIGS 21 View Figures 1–26 , 75 View Figures 67–78 , 125 View Figures 108–131 , 160 View Figures 156–175 , 187 View Figures 176–187 )
Phorodesma tancrei Graeser, 1890: 264 View in CoL . Syntypes
1♂ 1♀, Ussuri. (MNHU) Euchloris tancrei: Staudinger, 1901: 262 . Comibaena tancrei: Prout, 1913a: 20 View in CoL , pl. 3a.
Diagnosis: In the wing pattern, Comibaena tancrei is distinctive in having doubly sinuous antemedial and postmedial lines on the forewing, especially the former, which is strongly concave proximally; the postmedial line of the forewing connects to the outer margin by a diffuse white line on M 3; the small white tornal patch is scattered with a few brown scales. On the hindwing, the brown apical patch is long and narrow, terminating above M 3, and the white submarginal line merges with the narrow white terminal area. The male eighth sternite possesses a row of small spines on the posterior margin.
The male genitalia are distinctive in having a longitudinal subapical sclerite on the centre of the costal lobe, the ventral margin of which bears small teeth. The vinculum is less developed, with the anterior margin flat, wide, and the two branches very short. The lamella postvaginalis of the female genitalia protrudes posteriorly, appearing as a pair of sclerites.
Type material examined: Russia: 1♂, syntype, Amur Centr , 1889 (Radde) ( MNHU) ; 1♀, syntype, Amur, Sidemi , 1889 ( MNHU) .

Distribution: China (Heilongjiang, Jilin, east Inner Mongolia, Henan), Russia (Amur district, Ussuri district), Korean Peninsula.
