Current status: Brachyponera arcuata . Raised to species: Wilson 1958b: 347. Combination in Brachyponera: Wilson 1958b: 347 ; Schmidt & Shattuck 2014: 80 (s/f Ponerinae ).

Typus ”, “Cotypus Euponera / luteipes v. arcuata / Karaw.”. These probably belong to the type series of this species, but the collection number differs from the original description.
