Lactobacillus psittaci (psit.ta‘ci. L. gen. masc. n. psittaci of the parrot, from which the organism was first isolated).

Lactobacillus psittaci View in CoL produces acid from glucose, raffinose and sucrose, but not from lactose, mannitol and trehalose [ 107]. The genome size is 1.54 Mbp and the mol% G+C content of DNA is 35.6.

Isolated from a hyacinth macaw.
