Lactobacillus jensenii (jen.se’ni.i. N.L. gen. n. jensenii , of Jensen, named for S. Orla-Jensen, a Danish microbiologist).

Lactobacillus jensenii View in CoL produces only the D(−)-lactic enantiomer. Cellobiose, sucrose and maltose fermented; lactose, mannitol and arabinose not fermented [ 97]. The genome size is 1.61 Mbp and the mol% G+C content of DNA is 34.33.

One of the predominant species in the human female lower genital tract.
