Distribution. East China Sea, southern Japan, 107– 366 m.

Remarks. This species has a small disc, slender arms, 5 to 13 fine spinelets in groups ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 C), 13 to 15 subadambulacral spines and two furrow spines ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 D) in a vertical series ( Hayashi 1940). These small specimens examined here accord closely with the original description of the species by Hayashi (1940) except that our specimens sometimes possess 5 to 10 subadambulacral spines.
