Type material. Holotype. China: Male, Ningxia, Yanchi, Gaoshawo , vii-28-2016, Kang Lou coll. ( SNNU) . Paratype. 1 female, same information as holotype.

Description. Male. Body size large for the genus. Head small, slightly wider than the anterior of pronotum. Rostrum slightly narrower than antennal scape in width. Median ocellus round and smallest. Eyes rather large. Postclypeus narrowed laterally, anteclypeus transversely widened. Apical joint of maxillary palpi slightly longer than the third, depressed and widened, with rounded apex; apical joint of labial palpi rod-like, longer than remain- der sections, depressed and widened. Pronotum transverse broad; anterior and posterior margins straight, posterior margin wider than the anterior, middle of both lateral edges slightly concave. Tegmen bearing an oblique vein and three chord veins. Apical region degraded, lateral region bearing four Sc branches. Fore tibia only possessing external tympanum, elongate oval-like. Hind tibia bearing four dorsal spurs on two sides respectively, of the inside, first spur stubby and well separated from others, the basal of fourth expanded; apical spurs three inside and outside respectively.

Genitalia. In dorsal view, epiphallus upper and lower margins concave medially; lateral lobe rhabditiform, curved inwards. In lateral view, lateral lobe of epiphallus somewhat short, truncated and slightly curved outward. In ventral view, inner margin of ectoparamere protruded, distally narrowed.

Female. Similar to male but veins different. Primary veins almost paralleled. Ovipositor blade-like.

Coloration. Head colored yellowish brown, basal of apical joint of maxillary palpi dark. Lateral edges of pronotum dark brown. Tegmen light brown.

Measurements (mm). Male. BL 6.88, HW 1.80, PL 1.48, TL 4.24, HFL 4.45. Female. BL 6.63, HW 1.90, PL 1.45, TL 4.17, HFL 4.71, OL 2.66.

Etymology. The name refers to the desolate appearance of the type locality environment.

Remarks. This species is very similar to P. (P.) indicus in body size and coloration, but different the male genitalia are very different and the lateral lobe of epiphallus bears a tooth.
