Apenesia acia sp. nov. ( Figs. 17–19 View FIGURE 14 – 19. 14 – 16 )

Description.— Male. Body length 3.36 mm; LFW 2.4 mm. Color: head and mesonotum black, except the pronotum dark castaneous, metanotum dark rufous castaneous, mandible and antenna castaneous, palpi, tegula and legs yellowish castaneous, wings hyaline, veins castaneous.

Head ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 14 – 19. 14 – 16 ): mandible with five teeth, the lower much larger than the others ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 14 – 19. 14 – 16 ). Clypeus with narrowly truncate median lobe, median carina weak apically. First four antennal segment in a ratio of 25:8:15:14, segment III 3 X as long as thick, segment XI 4.5 X as long as thick. Eyes glabrous. Frons polished, with few punctures at central area of frons. WH 1.0 X LH; WF 0.56 X WH; WF 1.1 X HE; OOL 1.1 X WOT; posterior ocellus distant from the crest vertex 0.75 X DAO; frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute. Vertex entirely rounded, occipital carina visible in dorsal view. VOL 0.52 X HE.

Mesosoma ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 14 – 19. 14 – 16 ): thorax polished. Pronotal disc with anterior transverse carina. Notauli well impressed, incomplete anteriorly, nearly reaching in the posterior margin of the mesoscutum. Parapsidal furrows well impressed, incomplete anteriorly. Propodeal disc 1.07 X as wide as long, polished except the basal triangle, with median carina nearly complete, lateral of propodeum polished, declivity strigulate.

Metasoma: petiolate. Genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURE 14 – 19. 14 – 16 ): paramere short, 0.58 X as long as the basiparamere, apical margin with strongly concave, apical inner portion large and with the upper margin irregular and slightly shorter than the outer corner, the latter rounded; volsella with the ventral ramus of digitus high, 0.52 X as long as paramere, wider apically, with upper margin truncate with rounded corners; aedeagus with a pair of high apical lobes, ending very sharply and slightly directed downward.

Remarks. — The irregular shape of the parameres and the high and very sharp lobes of the aedeagus are peculiar to this species.

Etymology. — The name refers to the very long and sharp lobes of the aedeagus.
