Mictopsichia Hübner View in CoL , [1825] 1816, Verz. Bekannter Schmett.: 374.
Type species: Tortrix hubneriana Stoll in Cramer, 1791, Papillons Exotiques (suppl.): 41.
As recently re-defined by Razowski (2009), Mictopsichia includes 20 described species ranging from Mexico to Brazil; two new species are described herein, bringing the total to 22. The only clue to larval host plants are the label data on four specimens of Mictopsichia gemmisparsana (Walker) ( USNM) indicating that they were reared from Vitis vinifera L. ( Vitaceae ) in Venezuela. Adults are presumed to be diurnal, and this is supported by limited field observations in Costa Rica.
