Aulidiotis View in CoL species (Hainan)
( Figs 10 View FIGURES 5 – 10 , 17 View FIGURES 16 – 17 )
Material examined. China: 1♀, Ma Hou Ling, Yinggeling (18.98°N, 129.4°E), Hainan, 960 m, leg. Kendrick R. C., genitalia slide No. L09007.
Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 5 – 10 ). Wingspan 20.0 mm. Head white. Labial palpus yellow with brown on outer surface, yellowish white with pale brown on inner surface; second segment about 1.5 times length of diameter of eye, thicker than third; third segment slender. Antenna with scape yellowish white, flagellum deep yellow with pale brown. Thorax and tegula yellowish white. Forewing pale ochreous, becoming ochreous brown from base to inner margin of distal patch; distal patch ochreous yellow, approximately elliptical, inner margin almost straight; cilia deep yellow with brown. Hindwing and cilia yellowish white, with brown scales. Fore and mid legs grayish white, with tarsi brown on dorsal surface, pale brown on ventral surface, tarsomeres white apically; hind leg yellowish white, with tarsus pale yellowish brown, tarsomeres yellowish white apically.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 16 – 17 ). Papillae anales subrectangular, slightly narrowed caudally, with sparse setae. Apophyses anteriores furcate in basal half, about as same length as apophyses posteriores; apophyses posteriores slightly dilated apically. Eighth tergite straight on posterior margin, sparsely setose. Antrum funnel-shaped, with dense granules on inner surface. Ductus bursae slightly longer than 2/5 length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae approximately rectangular, ductus seminalis arising from posterior margin of corpus bursae; signum absent.
Male unknown.
Diagnosis. This species is close to A. phoxopterella superficially, but distinguishable by the larger size of the adult, the forewing with the distal patch ochreous yellow, the apophyses posteriores dilated apically, and the antrum funnel-shaped in the female genitalia. In A. phoxopterella , the size of the adult is relatively small, the distal patch of the forewing is yellow, the apophyses posteriores are not dilated apically, and the antrum is approximately rectangular in the female genitalia.
Distribution. China (Hainan).
Remarks. Due to insufficient material, we give a full description but refrain from naming it as a new species.
