Large for genus; brownish-yellow with variable darker bands; antennae and legs yellowish. Head: vertex micropunctate; medial sulcus present; ocular sulcus present; few scattered punctures along medial sulcus. Antenna: reaching to base of pronotum; antennomere I rounded, shorter than II; II elongate; III ¾ length of II, cylindrical; IV–VI transverse, each wider than the preceding; VII longest, elongate, acutely pointed at apex. Pronotum: lateral margin angulate behind middle, straight and divergent for basal 2/3s then rounded and convergent, slight notch before anterior angle; anterior angle with rounded tooth; posterior angle acute; convex; coarsely densely punctate; slightly constricted behind disc; punctures on disc less impressed than laterally; medial longitudinal sulcus present; basal margin nearly impunctate; pronotal length 0.6–0.7 mm; pronotal width 0.7–0.9 mm. Scutellum: quadrate; micropunctate. Elytron: lateral margin dentate, slightly expanding apically; apical margin smooth, slightly explanate; humerus produced, angulate; 8 rows strongly impressed punctures plus short scutellar row; puncture rows 3–4 reduced to 1 row near middle; puncture rows 5–6 in expanded to two additional rows in pit after middle; interspace 2 costate for entire length; interspace 4 costate for entire length, curving toward suture near middle; additional costa at humerus, joins costa of interspace 4, just behind humerus, irregularly costate after middle, with transverse costae joining interspace 4; interspace 6 costate from behind humerus, costa sinuate; elytral length 2.1–2.3 mm; elytral width 1.3–1.4 mm. Leg: profemur with large acute tooth on outer margin, meso- and metafemora with tooth on inner margin; tibia with fringe of setae at apex, mesotibia with large tooth on inner margin at apex; surface of tibia and femur punctate. Venter: pro-, meso-, and metasterna dark, abdominal sterna brownish-yellow; mesosternum punctate medially, granulose laterally; meso- and metasterna granulose; abdominal sterna granulose, apex of sternite 4 and base of sternite 5 darker. Total length 3.0– 3.1 mm.

Etymology. From arma (Latin= weapons) for the tooth on the femora of this species.

Comparative notes. This species is easily distinguished by the tooth on each femur. The vertex of the head is micropunctate; the lateral margin of the pronotum is angulate beyond the middle; elytra puncture rows 3–4 reduced to a single row beyond the middle, and rows 5–6 expanded to four rows beyond the middle.

Distribution. Brazil, Colombia, and Peru.
