Berytinus hirticornis auct (prior to Jakovlev, 1903); Berytus nigrolineatus Jakovlev, 1903: 379 ; Berytinus nigrolineatus var. pallidus Jakovlev, 1907: 216 ; Berytinus galvagnii Tamanini, 1963: 135 ; Berytinus (Berytinus) hirticornis nigrolineatus Péricart, 1976: 360 .
Distribution in Iran. Khorasan ( Linnavuori & Modarres Awal 1999 as B. (Berytinus) hirticornis hirticornis ), Zanjan ( Linnavuori 2007), northern Iran (no locality cited) ( Péricart 1984).
General distribution. South East Mediterranean (from Greece to Central Asia).
Comment. In Iran collected on Punica sp. ( Lythraceae ), Artemisia sp. ( Asteraceae ), and Fabaceae ( Linnavuori 2007) . According to the length of the front processus and antennal pilosity, one can distinct 3 subspecies: Nominal form is in Europe and east of Black Sea over 45° of north latitude; B. (Berytinus) hirticornis pilipes (Puton) : south west Mediterranean region ( Spain, Italy, former Yugoslavia, The Maghreb); B. (Berytinus) hirticornis nigrolineatus (Jakovlev) : south east Mediterranean (from Greece to Central Asia); according to Péricart (1984) in boundary regions the three forms can hybridize.
