Remarks. The lectotype corresponds to the current interpretation of the species. Genus Tomoxia was described on page eight of Costa (1853) with a date of publication 1 December 1853. Description of the species starts on page eight published on 1 December 1853 and continues on page nine published in 1854 (without specification of the day and month; Costa 1853 –1854; Bosquet 2016). We maintain 1854 as the year of publication in the name of the species as it was the first date when the full description became available.
