In the API 20NE system, positive for nitrate reduction and esculin hydrolysis; but negative for indole production, glucose acidification, arginine dihydrolase, urease activity, gelatin hydrolysis, β-galactosidase activity, and oxidase activity. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not utilized as sole carbon sources.
