In the API 20NE system, positive for nitrate reduction, glucose acidification, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, and β-galactosidase activity; but negative for indole production, arginine dihydrolase, urease activity, and oxidase activity. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, malic acid, and trisodium citrate are utilized as sole carbon sources, while capric acid, adipic acid, and phenylacetic acid are not.
