Description of Streptomyces geranii MMS 16-UL617
Cells are Gram-staining-positive, non-flagellated, and filamentous shaped. Colonies are filamentous, umbonate, and mud yellow colored after incubation for 5 days on TSA at 30℃. In the API 20NE system, positive for esculin hydrolysis, β-galactosidase activity, and oxidase activity; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose acidification, arginine dihydrolase, urease activity, gelatin hydrolysis. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, Dmannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid are not utilized as sole carbon sources. Strain MMS16-UL617 (= NIBR BAC000498612) was isolated from a soil sample in Ulleung-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Republic of Korea.
