In the API 20NE system, positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, and β-galactosidase activity; but negative for indole production, glucose acidification, arginine dihydrolase, urease activity, and oxidase activity. D-Glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-D-glucosamine, and D-maltose are utilized as sole carbon sources; while potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not.
