Ecology. Epiphytic on Udotea palmetta at spring low tide level and shallow subtidal.

Indian Ocean distribution. Amirante Islands, Australia, Diego Garcia Atoll, India, Kenya, Mauritius ( Børgesen, 1944: 30), Mozambique, Oman, Pakistan, Réunion ( Jadin, 1935: 166), Rodrigues (this paper), Seychelles, South Africa, Sri Lanka.
