Material examined. Holotype ♀: México, Hidalgo, Huasca de Ocampo , rancho Sta.Elena, MT3, 25.XI–26.XII.2005, leg. A. Contreras et al. ( UNAM).

Paratype: 1 ♀ with the same data as holotype ( ZISP) .

Description. Female. Fore wing length 3.0 mm.

Face medially 1.3 × as wide as high; face densely and roughly punctate, pustulate; eyes with very scarce short setae, dorsal ridge of face inbetween antennal sockets without a median prominence; face profile rounded, edge of clypeus rounded, antennal sockets on a shelf but shelf not particularly high (Hw/Fp = 6.1); subocular sulcus bent towards occiput; maxillary palp reaching beyond fore coxa. Frons and vertex strongly punctured. In dorsal view, head posteriorly moderately concave, temples distinct, about 0.25 × eye width, posterior ocellus separated from eye by 1.0 × ocellar diameter, anterior ocellus separated from eye by 1.8 × ocellar diameter, lacking ocellar-ocular grooves. Minimum distance between antennal sockets about 1/3 diameter of socket; antenna with 28 flagellomeres (n=2) which gradually shortening towards apex; basal flagellomere nearly 2.2 × as long as wide and about half of scape length; scape in frontal view a little concave on lateral surface, convex on inner surface.

Mesosoma smooth and polished except for few striae postero-ventrally on pronotum, with weak microsculpture on propodeum; mesoscutum strongly punctured, anteriorly with distinct notauli; in profile, scutellum not particularly high, metapleuron slightly convex; propodeum with posterior transverse carina complete, median longitudinal carinae complete, lateral longitudinal carinae present as a stubs posterior to spiracles, spiracles medium-sized.

Legs moderately stout; coxae and femora polished, femora with coriaceous microsculpture especially on posterior side, tibiae and tarsi coriaceous-granulate; hind coxa 1.1 × as long as first tergite, hind femur 3.2 × as long as high, hind tibia 4.7 × as long as apically wide; tibiae with spine-like setae.

Wings not particularly narrow; fore wing with areolet pentagonal, narrowly sessile (vein 3rs-m depigmented), second recurrent vein (2m-cu) meeting areolet at apical 2/3; vein Rs straight; hind wing with nervellus not intercepted.

First tergite slightly widening apically, 1.4 × as long as apically wide, coriaceous, with median longitudinal carinae, with impressions originating at about middle of tergite, sloping posteriorly, not meeting centrally. Second tergite as long as apically wide; coriaceous; transverse groove originating at about middle of tergite, sloping posteriorly near posterior margin; basal thyridia oval/rectangular, contrastingly coloured, second thryridia oval, same colour as surrounding cuticle. Third tergite coriaceous except posterior margin. Remainder of metasoma unsculptured, polished, lacking thyridia. Ovipositor thin, straight, without dorsal notch; ovipositor sheath widened apically, with sparse setae.

Body setose except eyes, pronotum, mesopleuron and metapleuron, setae very scattered on metasoma and posterior sides of coxae.

Dark brown; face yellowish, slightly infuscate dorso-medially; mouthparts, malar area up to level of ventral edge of eye, clypeus and inner orbits light yellow; antenna, fore and mid legs, propleuron, pronotum in dorsoposterior corners and ventrally, tegula yellowish brown; hind legs mostly orange except coxa brown dorsally, tibia fuscous dorsal surface and apically, with yellowish basal band; posterior margins of second and third tergites and remaining tergites brown.

Male. Unknown.

Biology. Hosts unknown.

Distribution. Mexico (Hidalgo).

Etymology. Named after the sculpture of head and mesoscutum.

Comments. Compared with the other species that have completely papillate face, antennal sockets on a distinct but low shelf, and fore wing with areolet closed, antenna with 28 flagellomeres, unlike in O. contrerasi , pterostigma nearly symmetrical and basal flagellomere 2.1 × as long as wide, unlike in O. flavoorbitalis and O. rhombifer .
