( Figs 2 F View FIGURE 2 , 9 F View FIGURE 9 , 13 F View FIGURE 13 , 16 F View FIGURE 16 , 20 View FIGURE 20 )

Material examined. Holotype ♀: México, Hidalgo, Huasca de Ocampo , rancho Sta.Elena, MT3, 25.XI–26.XII.2005, leg. A.Contreras et al. ( UNAM).

Paratypes: 1 ♀ with same data as for holotype ; 2 ♀ the same place, but date 25.I–23.II.2006 ( UNAM and UAT) ; 1♀ the same place, without date ( ZISP) .

Description. Female. Fore wing length 2.3–2.4 mm.

Face medially 1.2 × wider than high; face strongly protuberant, smooth, polished, finely and densely punctate, eyes small, glabrous; malar space long, subocular sulcus not developed; maxillary palp reaching slightly beyond fore coxa; dorsal ridge of face inbetween antennal sockets without a median prominence; frons matt; face profile nearly straight, edge of clypeus straight, antennal sockets on a high shelf (Hw/Fp = 3.3); in dorsal view, head posteriorly deeply concave, temples wide, about 0.45 × eye width, posterior ocelli distant from eye by ocellar diameter, anterior ocellus separated from eye by 2.2 × ocellar diameter, ocellar-ocular grooves shallow. Minimum distance between antennal sockets about 1/3 diameter of socket; antenna stout, curled, with 23–25 similar-sized transversequadrate flagellomeres (n=5), which not gradually shortening towards apex; basal flagellomere 0.9 × as long as wide and about 1/4 of the length of scape; scape nearly parallel-sided.

Mesosoma smooth and polished, some microsculpture on propodeum; mesoscutum lacking notauli, sparsely punctate; in profile, scutellum somewhat high, metapleuron slightly convex; propodeum with posterior transverse carina present between lateral longitudinal carinae and posterior transverse carina present laterally to lateral longitudinal carinae, median longitudinal carinae complete, lateral longitudinal carinae complete, spiracles mediumsized.

Legs all slightly flattened, broad; coxae and femora polished, tibiae and tarsi coriaceous-granulate; hind coxa large, 1.1 × as long as first tergite, hind femur 3.2 × as long as high, hind tibia 4.1 × as long as apically wide; tibiae with scattered, inconspicuous, spine-like setae.

Wings narrow; fore wing with areolet longer than high, second recurrent vein (2m-cu) meeting areolet at apical 0.9; vein Rs straight, nervulus postfurcal; hind wing with nervellus intercepted at lower third.

First tergite elongate, dorsally slightly wider at spiracles, 1.6 × as long as apically wide; rugose-coriaceous, with two posteriorly almost complete median longitudinal carinae, with transverse impressions originating at about middle of tergite, sloping posteriorly, not meeting centrally. Second tergite 1.0 × as long as apically wide; rugose, with transverse impressions originating at middle of tergite, meeting centrally; basal thyridia of second tergite oval/ elongate. Third tergite coriaceous basally, with basal thyridia narrow, remaining tergites smooth, polished. Ovipositor thin, nearly straight, without subapical dorsal notch; ovipositor sheath widened apically, with sparse setae longer than sheath width, backwards pointing.

Body largely setose except eyes, pronotum, mesopleuron and metapleuron; setae scattered on propodeum, basal tergites, and posterior sides of coxae.

Dark brown except mesosoma ventrally reddish-brown; face and antenna basally light brown; mesoscutum mostly reddish-brown, infuscate apically and centrally; fore and mid legs, hind coxa apically, hind trochanter and trochantellus, base of hind femur, basal band of hind tibia, posterior margins of first and second tergites and anterior margins of second and third tergites yellow; hind coxa and femur reddish-brown; tegula, wing bases, mouthparts and sternites creamy.

Male. Unknown.

Biology. Hosts unknown.

Distribution. Mexico (Hidalgo).

Etymology. Named after the small eyes.

Comments. Compared with the other species that have antennal sockets on a high protruding shelf, thick antennae, eyes glabrous, and whole body not laterally flattened, this is distinctly smaller species with the eyes small, malar space enlarged, about 0.75 × as long as eye height, head posteriorly deeply concave.
