Distribution: Colombia.

Type material of H. designata: The lectotype in the CUMZ designated by Gordon (1987) for Hinda designata of Santa-Fé de Bogotá, Colombia, was examined. It bears the following labels: [TYPE], [TYPE designata Reich ], [LECTOTYPE Hinda designata Muls By R.GORDON, 1970 ], [LECTOTYPE Hyperaspis designata Muls, 1850 GORDON 1987 ].

Type material of H. quindecimmaculata : A type of Hinda quindecimmaculata Weise in the ZMNB from Colombia (Bang-Haas) was studied. It bears the following labels: [ Hinda quinquedecimmaculata m.1895], [LECTOTYPE Hinda quinquedecimmaculata Weise Gordon 1971 ]. This designation was not published so we now designate this specimen as lectotype.

Three additional type specimens of H. designata in the ZMHB were examined, all with the following labels: grey [ Colombia], white [ Hinda quinquedecimmaculata Weise ex. Coll. J. Weise] red [Syntypes, Hinda quinquedecimmaculata Weise, 1895 , labeled by ZMHB 2003]. We here designate these specimens as paralectotypes.
