Type: — BRAZIL. Goiás: Serra da Chrystais (in shcéd.), s.d., J.B.E. Pohl 799 (holotype: K000500576 digital image!; isotype: W57052 digital image!) .

Subshrubs 0.3–1m high; branches densely pilose; internodal stem wings absent. Leaves simple, blades oblong to elliptic, 2.4–5 × 1.2–2.7 cm, pilose above and beneath; stipules absent. Inflorescence a raceme, 4–13 cm long, terminal; peduncles 1–2 cm long. Flowers 6–12; pedicels 8–15 mm long; bracts 7–13 × 3–7 mm, ovate- lanceolate to foliaceous, persistent; bracteoles 5–9 × 3–5 mm, oval- lanceolate or foliaceous, persistent; calyx 19–23 mm long, deeply divided into 2 lips, pilose; corolla yellow; the standard petal 1.5 × 1.2–1.3 cm; wing petals 1.4–1.6 cm long; keel petals 1.5–1.6 cm long, twisted., ovary 5–7 mm long, sessile; style geniculate.Legumes 3.5–4 × 1–1.7 cm, oblong- clavate, glabrous, black at maturity, ca. 30-seeded; seeds 3–4 × 3–4 mm, the seed coat brown.

Distribution and Ecology: — Crotalaria flavicoma is common in Central and Southeastern Brazil, occurring in the states of Goiás, Minas Gerais and the Federal District, where it occurs in rocky and sandy soils, mainly in campo rupestre vegetation and grasslands.
