Cells are circular and exhibit polar budding ( Fig. 1 View Fig ). After 3 days of incubation on YPD agar at 25°C, colonies are light orange, mucoid, round to irregular, and raised. In the API 20C AUX test, strain CB9-2 tests positive for glucose, glycerol, calcium-2-keto-D-gluconate, L-arabinose, D-xylose, D-saccharose (sucrose), D-trehalose, and D-melezitose; weakly positive for N -acetyl-D-glu- cosamine; but negative for adonitol, xylitol, D-galactose, inositol, D-sorbitol, methyl- α -D-glucopyranoside, D-cellobiose, D-lactose (bovine origin), D-maltose, and D-raffinose.
Strain CB9-2 (KCTC 37312) was isolated from Craspedonotus tibialis samples collected in Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Republic of Korea.
