Distribution

Previously recorded ( Kott 2008a; Sanamyan K and Hissman 2008): Philippines Timor; Indonesia. New record: CSIRO SS05/07 western Australia (Station 129-034, 15.79 S 121.06 E, 119 m, 1 July 2007, Beam Trawl QM G328489 – 12 specimens).

The species is known from waters 12 m to 250 m deep where it appears to be common ( Kott 2008a). Apparently it is a species from the deeper outer continental shelf rather than the lower slope and deeper waters. It shares its Indo-west Pacific range with other outer continental shelf species.
