Discussion: As pointed out by Gerecke (2003), most records published under the name Atractides spinipes (Koch, 1837) refer to misshaped specimens, mostly of A. nodipalpis . The following records, partly published as Megapus spinipes (Koch, 1837) , not being documented by collection material, their identity remains unclear: Vandel 1920: 56; Mota¸s 1928f: 174, 1928g: 9; Mota¸s & ¸ Soarec 1939a: 2; E.
