Genus Kochlorine Noll, 1872 View in CoL View at ENA
Kochlorine View in CoL .— Tomlinson, 1969: 65.
Diagnosis. Females with three pairs of terminal cirri, caudal appendages present (two-segmented), developed lateral bars and orificial knob. Dwarf males with elongated attachment stalk and lateral projections ( Chan, Hsieh & Kolbasov, 2014).
Remarks. There are currently seven described species in this genus, of which K. bihamata , was previously thought to occur in South Africa. Below we suggest that report be discounted. However, two other species belonging to this genus are reported for the first time from the region, one of which is considered new to science.
