Biological Notes. Cortés (1951) recorded this species as a leaf miner in “frijoles” ( Phaseolus sp. , Fabaceae ). The series from Catron County, New Mexico was feeding on an unidentified, lowgrowing, herbaceous twining vine that certainly belonged to the Fabaceae but was not in bloom at that time. Larvae were not observed. A host of Fabaceae for this species is consistent with the known food plants of other species of Odontota Chevrolat ( Clark et al. 2004) .

Remarks. This is an easily recognized species, with generic characters consistent with Odontota ( Butte 1968b) . It will key to this genus in Butte (1968a), Staines (1997, 2006), and Riley et al. (2002), thus the generic transfer is proposed here. This species was figured with its original description and again in Staines (2012). The dark metallic greenish blue elytra trimmed with red and the pair of faint orange spots on the otherwise dark pronotum are diagnostic.
