Found from the coastal areas to about 950 m. ex Silybum marianum : 17M and 19F, Khaldeh, Baabda Co. ( Mount Lebanon) ; 74M and 78F, El Qalamoun, Tripoli Co. ( North Lebanon) ; 7M and 8F, Enfeh, Koura Co. ( North Lebanon) ; 27M and 17F, Qobb Elias, Zahleh Co. (Beqaa Valley ) .

Silybum marianum View in CoL , a widespread plant in the spring along the coastal areas, is a new host record for this tephritid which was known only to infest the heads of Cynara scolymus View in CoL (artichoke) and C. syriaca View in CoL ( Neuenschwander and Freidberg, 1983; Freidberg and Kugler, 1989). The aculeus of 17 T. fuscicornis View in CoL females, reared from Silybum marianum View in CoL , were found to be long, ranging from 3.7 to 5.0 mm (n 512). The distribution of this species includes Israel and Crete ( Neuenschwander and Freidberg, 1983; Freidberg and Kugler, 1989).
