In the previous compilations of the Mediterranean pycnogonid fauna ( Arnaud 1987, Chimenz & Lattanzi 2003) this species was not recorded in the eastern basin of the Mediterranean. Thus the paper of Kocak & Katagan (2007b) and the present contribution are the first records for the entire region.
