Ecology. Endogeic, acidophilic species occurring in grasslands and forests with a preference for moist habitats ( Graff 1954).
Zoogeographical distribution type. Peregrine species that occurs in Great Britain, Sweden, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland ( Sims & Gerard 1999), Ireland, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Australia ( Rota 2014: Fauna Europaea). Introduced into the United States ( Sims & Gerard 1999).
